A space for finding balance.
Hi, I’m Stella Fischl, a Licensed and Board-Certified Creative Arts Therapist with a Master’s degree in Art Therapy from NYU. As an artist, I have always benefited from the therapeutic nature of art. As a therapist I use a blend of art therapy and talk therapy, tailoring my approach to each person. If you’re new to art therapy and unsure if it’s right for you, no worries! Some people use art supplies every session, and others never use them at all. It all depends on what works for you.
My background includes working with teenagers and teen moms in foster care, as well as survivors of domestic violence. I have provided therapy for women experiencing homelessness and continue to see new & expecting mothers with perinatal mood and anxiety disorders. Through this work I have learned the true meaning of resilience, and respect my clients for every bit of progress, even if it is simply getting out of bed in the morning. I developed art therapy programs at Catholic Guardian Services, Food First Family Project Inc., The Motherhood Center, and HELP USA.
I love to keep learning and am always integrating new techniques, including trauma interventions, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and mindfulness-based stress reduction.
